Hi Gavin, thanks for another excellent analysis of these boards. Lots of interesting points. Hope I’m not over posting here but a couple of other things in addition to the two above. On board 3, you mentioned „Spiral”. I quite like a version called „fragment spiral” described in this article https://3nt.xyz/bridge/articles/Fragment_Spiral.pdf The fact that this gives partner some idea of possible stops and weaknesses for 3NT seems like it might be better than 3344. Of course at the expense of giving that info to the opposition also. I see your article that you mentioned from 2010 is referenced here also. Is there a version of spiral that you would recommend now ? On board 4, you mentioned 3rd suit forcing and that the idea came from England. I think this is the same as the „Bourke Relay” which is detailed in Tournament Acol - A System for Winners, 1995 by David Bird and Tim Bourke, chapter 5. The whole book is a good read actually. I got it from Amazon a few months ago. Perhaps if you have other viewers from my side of the pond who play ACOL, they might find it a useful read also. Best regards
Really interesting discussion on board 2 about how the auction goes over a 1NT opener vs a suit opener. Interesting there have been a few of your previous post mortem videos where you’ve explained a complicated low level auction and I’ve sat there thinking it would go 1NT P P P or 1NT P 3NT PPP if it were in one of my games - as I (and most people around here) play 12-14. I’m as tempted to downgrade 14 and 5 card suit to bid 1NT as you are to upgrade these !
Gavin, on board 1, you said over a 1NT rebid, you would try to get out in a major at the 2 level but over a 2NT rebid you suggested passing. Would you not try to get out in a major at the 3 level over a 2NT rebid ?
Lia played board eight several times strangely. A couple of times she started by playing an honor from hand in clubs and even more strangely she sometimes played the combination correctly but, when her RHO played small on the second round she had a senior moment and played an honor???

I just realized something. Lia only plays the hand if she is partnered with another Lia

Sorry about that. We will pass this on to the Lia developer to let them know to lighten up her restrictions of responding to partner's opening bid. I can only imagine this is a tough thing to program because its hard to put into words exactly why we respond light.
