Was surprised you suggested that systems might not be on on board 7 - it didn’t occur to me to bid other than 3D transfer here and would have bid 3C with 4 card hearts. Are there other circumstances where we overcall NT (as effectively after the power double) where stayman and transfers would be off ? I usually only change things if a bid is not available - say 1D (1NT) 2D - here I can’t bid 2C so we need some other agreement for Stayman - is this a good general agreement to have i.e. it’s the same unless it has to be different as they’ve taken away space ?
Systems aren't on when someone doubles then bids notrump. Usually by then too many suits have been bid by the other players, and also partner is limited by their action (maybe pass) on the prior round.
Hi Gavin - funny I did both your Michael’s classes this afternoon and seem to have somewhat misapplied your method. I thought the south hand was too strong for 3C and made a 2H cue bid showing club support. Guess this was quite a lot of an overbid ! Did end up in 3NT though after showing spade and heart stops and made it when they played one round of diamonds and switched to HK.
