On board 3 our bidding went 3h p p 3nt P. 4s. What should happen now
You would need to have a really solid agreement that 4♠ would be a transfer to clubs to make that bid. I would never risk that. If I'd rather play in clubs I would certainly just jump to 5 clubs. That club hand shouldn't be escaping 3NT. When partner overcalls 3NT after the opponents preempt, they often aren't the shape we are hoping they will be. Making 11 tricks is going to be so difficult that you need to leave partner in 3NT.
Hi Gavin, I want to ask you about the defense of B1. I was sitting West. Trick 1 ♥9-♥T-♥3-♥A. Declarer crossed to ♠A and then led ♦8 out of dummy. What should I (West) do? Should I hop up with the A and draw trump? if so, should I play ♠K or a low trump?
its usually right to duck in this spot, because you are letting them get 1 trick rather than two in diamonds. IF you do pop up wiht the ace of diamonds its definitely right to lead a low trump back to give declarer a chance to go wrong.
