Hi Gavin, Regarding the discussion of whether systems should be on in the auction on board 7, is it sensible in undiscussed situations to try to think of the nearest similar situation that is discussed - in this case I thought it should be the same as 2S (weak 2 open) 2NT pass to me where I would play systems on. Does that seem like a good meta agreement to have ? Not foolproof but maybe a decent guide.
Hello Gavin. Board 2. I have taken your lesson on 3rd and low leads. I was interested in your third best lead of the club five. Revisiting the notes there is no mention of leads when your suit is headed by a sequence - 109xx here. What to lead holding other sequences? QJxx or KQxx. Presumably you would not lead third best. Thank you.
Whether to lead low or the honor card from that type of holding is a difficult question. Either could be right. But at least by leading low, partner knows your length. With a sequence of three honor cards, definitely lead the honor.
