Related to hand 3 where there was cue bidding, we were in the wrong contract. My partner cue bid 4D with his singleton 8 of D. Please advise when you cue bid 1st round control vs 2nd round control. And what is a good lesson to take to get the 1st round vs 2nd round control down pat?
Generally control bidding should be first and second round controls up the line. The main exception is not to show a shortness control in partner's main suit, since then they might think they have a lot of tricks in the suit that they don't have. The point of control bidding is to make sure there is no completely uncontrolled suit before anyone bids blackwood.
You mentioned CUs Bid Class - when is that?
